In October 2012, I performed a series of walks totaling 71 miles over two weeks. The series culminated in a 21.4 mile walk from the Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest, IL to my home in Chicago. During the walks, I streamed live video and GPS of my walks to the internet using my phone. Viewers participated by watching the video and sending comments via Ustream, Kickstarter, and Facebook. I burned the GPS tracks into wood using a laser cutter and am in the process of embossing these tracks onto paper. I sifted through the hours of video footage to select pixelated stills to print as archival photographs, which I call The New Nature Photos.I printed these cell phone size and as large prints to draw attention to the difference in experiencing the outdoors through a screen and in person.

Much later, in 2018, I began thru-hiking and over the next few years hiked over 3000 miles. I documented much of my Pacific Crest Trail hike in a vlog.
